What is SoraCon?

SoraCon is an anime convention run for anime fans by anime fans in The Regina Cosplayer Club’s (RCC). In our first year (2025), the convention hosted panels, a cosplay contest, a games room, a mini-concert and 30 local artists and vendors! Whether you're a cosplayer, collector, or just looking to make new friends, there's something for every anime fan at SoraCon!We aim to create a fun and inviting space for anyone to hang out around like-minded enthusiasts. Our focus is always first and foremost on fostering a welcoming community of anime fans in Regina :)

When is Soracon?

Are minors allowed at SoraCon?

Yes, SoraCon is an all-ages event!We ask that children under 12 be accompanied by an adult.

Do I have to be a U of R student?

Nope! Though we are run by a student club, both students and non-students are welcome to attend.

How do I become a volunteer?

We are currently not taking on any more volunteers, but keep an eye out for volunteer applications mid-2026!

How do I become a vendor or panelist?

We are currently not holding vendor and panelist applications, but keep an eye out for when they open mid-2026!

✦ he/himHallo Hallo - I'm a 3rd year Comp-Sci student and the event organizer for the Cosplay Club. I love playing my Bass guitar, working on cosplays, and tinkering with electronics and their hardware/software. I love video games and anime - which is what my cosplays are typically based on. ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ

✦ they/she/heYo, my name is Lobo and I am Gender Fluid/a Trans woman, I use They/She/He pronouns. I am 25 and I am one of the AV Support/Technicians for this event.I have been working on my 3D art/Modelling skills and have been 3D printing many of my projects, I am big in to all things technology, love gaming and anime!I have casually been working on Alphonse Elric's Armor from Full Metal Alchemist and I have been working on making a T-61 power armor helmet from Fallout.

✦ she/herHi hi! My name's Sydney and my pronouns are she/her! I'm a 20 year old Creative Technologies student on her way to becoming an animator!I'm super big into making all sorts of things, whether it be art, cosplay, jewelry, trinkets – you name it! I'm just a little creative creature! And, of course, I'm a HUGE fan of anime and video games! My favourite anime as of right now is Trigun Stampede, and I will always have a soft spot for the Animal Crossing franchise!If you're looking for me, I'm probably “busy” locking in 8+ hours straight of just pure Roblox Dragon Adventures.

The vendor hall is a great opportunity to support local artists and vendors, and get yourself some cool trinkets, too!

GAMES ROOM

You can stop by the games room to play console games with friends, or join one of our D&D sessions if you're feeling adventurous!

COSPLAY CONTEST

The Soracon cosplay showcase is the perfect place to show off your cosplay skills! Get on the stage, strut your stuff, and have a chance to win some cool prizes!

SORACON DANCE

Closing out the event is the SoraCon dance! Stick around late for a night full of music and fun!
