What is SoraCon?

SoraCon is an anime convention run for anime fans by anime fans! We are made up of current and former members of the Regina Cosplayer Club’s (RCC). In our first year (2025), the convention hosted panels, a cosplay contest, a games room, a mini-concert and 30 local artists and vendors! Whether you're a cosplayer, collector, or just looking to make new friends, there's something for every anime fan at SoraCon!We aim to create a fun and inviting space for anyone to hang out around like-minded enthusiasts. Our focus is always first and foremost on fostering a welcoming community of anime fans in Regina :)

When and where is Soracon?

Soracon 2026 will be held October 10-11th, 2026 at the Conexus Arts Centre! Events run from 10am to 8pm both days.

What is the cost of a ticket?

$25 for a day and $40 for the weekend (plus taxes). Prices are the same online and at the door!

Do I have to pay to attend panels?

No! As long as you have paid to attend for the day of the panel, you can come and go freely

What kind of accessibility options are there?

There will be elevators for those with mobility issues. We also have access to the loading dock for exhibitors to bring in and take out their equipment. We will have gender-neutral/all gender washrooms available as well. We have also made the lanes between exhibitor areas larger this year to assist with getting around.

Are minors allowed at SoraCon?

Yes, SoraCon is an all-ages event! We ask that children under 12 be accompanied by an adult.

What are your restrictions on cosplay and props?

See our Cosplay and Props policy found here. Please note that this policy is subject to change and all props/costumes are reviewed on a case by case basis

Will you have [X person] attending?

Currently we will have extremely limited special guests due to being a grass roots non-profit organization. We are mostly working with local talents and we want to have more special guests in the future. If you are looking for your favorite exhibitor, we recommend checking both ours and their socials. We will put out posts of accepted guests and vendors closer to the time of the event.

Is there anything I can do to help out?

You can apply to volunteer here! There are a variety of roles and times we need to fill. Thank you so much :DIf you are a local business that wants to sponsor or work hand in hand with our organization, please send us an email to [email protected] and one of our lovely staff members will respond in a timely manner!

I have a great idea for the convention!

That is wonderful to hear! It is recommended to send and suggestions or ideas in our #suggestions channel in our discord. You can also email them to us at [email protected]

How do I become a vendor?

ALCHEMISTS ARMOURY

@alchemistsarmouryI have been cosplaying and making costumes for about 15 years. I’ve worked with chainmail, metal, wood, foam, fabrics, fur, 3d printing, thermo plastics, electronics and leather. I love the learning aspect of cosplay. I’ve won two journeyman and a master’s award for best costume as well as a 3rd place masters award most recently. But as I get older I tend to lean more to just cosplay for fun and less competitive. I believe cosplay is for everyone and should be a positive and fun experience. So if you’ve ever wanted to cosplay but never have, just go do it and have fun! Do the weird thing!
